How Are You Feeling Right Now?
It’s a simple question, isn’t it? How are you feeling right now? But if we pause long enough to answer honestly, it becomes something much deeper than small talk.
Right now, I’m feeling a mix of gratitude and calm. Gratitude, because every moment I get to write is a chance to connect—to put thoughts into words and maybe, just maybe, speak to someone else’s current state of mind. Calm, because sitting here, slowing down, and reflecting on this very question is grounding in itself.
But feelings are never one-note. Alongside the gratitude and calm, there’s also curiosity. I wonder how others would respond if they asked themselves this same question. Would they notice tension in their shoulders? A sense of excitement about something coming up? Or maybe just that indescribable fog of “I’m not sure”?
The truth is, our emotions are in constant motion, shifting from moment to moment. We often get caught up in labeling them as “good” or “bad,” but really, they’re just signals—our internal language of being human.
So today, I invite you to check in with yourself.
- Pause for a moment.
- Close your eyes if you’d like.
- Take a breath, slowly in and out.
- Ask yourself: How am I feeling right now?
Notice the first thing that comes up, without judgment. Maybe it’s joy. Maybe it’s worry. Maybe it’s simply “tired.” Whatever it is, give it space. Recognizing how we feel is often more powerful than trying to change it.
And for me? Still calm. Still grateful. Still curious.
So, let me turn the question back to you: How are you feeling right now?
