Dark Night of the Soul

What are your top ten favorite movies?

Hey there, fellow movie buff!

So you want to know my top ten favorite movies? Pull up a chair, grab some popcorn, and let’s geek out over films together. Picking just ten is ridiculous (don’t blame me if I sneak in a trilogy), but here goes—the flicks I always recommend and rewatch when I need a cinematic fix.

1. The Shawshank Redemption
Man, what a classic. It’s that kind of movie you can catch halfway through on TV, and you’ll still sit and watch till the end. Andy and Red’s friendship, the hope, the twist at the end—pure gold.

2. Inception
I still argue with my friends about whether that top falls over at the end or not! Christopher Nolan messes with your head in the best way possible. Smart, stylish, keeps you thinking forever.

3. Forrest Gump
How do you not love Forrest? He runs, he loves, he inspires. I get teary every single time Jenny shows up—or when Forrest meets his son. Simple and perfect.

4. Interstellar
Okay, Nolan again—what can I say, the guy delivers. Space, time, family, love, all wrapped up in jaw-dropping visuals and a soundtrack that hits you right in the feels.

5. The Dark Knight
Not just the best Batman movie, but easily one of the best crime dramas ever. Heath Ledger as Joker? Unbeatable. “Why so serious?” still gives me chills.

6. Parasite
This Korean masterpiece is wild. You think it’s one thing, and then, bam, it flips on you. Super clever, super twisty, and it makes you rethink a lot about society.

7. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Yes, it’s three movies, but who can split them up? There’s adventure, friendship, epic battles, hairy feet—you can’t ask for more. I marathon these every couple years and it never gets old.

8. Gladiator
Epic revenge. Gladiator battles. Russell Crowe being a total boss. “Are you not entertained?” Darn right I am.

9. Spirited Away
Miyazaki’s animation is magic. This movie is beautifully weird, and every time I watch it I see something new. If you’ve never seen it, do yourself a favor.

10. The Pursuit of Happyness
This one gets me. Will Smith and his real-life son crushing it on screen. It’s a punch in the gut, but you end up smiling by the credits.

Alright, that’s my list! Of course, tomorrow I might swap one out for something else (that‘s the curse of loving movies, right?), but these are the ones close to my heart.

Seen any of these? Totally disagree? Hit me up—I could talk movies all day!
